Proposal Engineer – Bespoke Automation
Remote / Hybrid / Office Based – This will be dependent on candidate location. Candidates can be from any part of the UK.

Working for a market leading bespoke automation company who specialise in highly regulated industries. They are looking for an experienced Proposals Engineer with excellent automation knowledge in estimating, valuation and quotation. You will be responsible for the successful turnaround of a commercially viable and technically compliant proposal to agreed deadlines.

You will need excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Excellent attention to detail with an ability to liaise with internal colleagues, suppliers and on occasion direct contact with prospective clients.

Summary of Role

• Preparation of technical quotations and specifications, including estimating resources and costing of time and equipment required.
• Converting all enquiries to completed sales proposal level.
• Draft a detailed proposal which includes parts lists and diagrams etc describing how the system will work.
• Pricing and a Gantt chart production, breaking down how the prices are arrived at and what the timeframe could look like.
• Definition of project scope.

Experience Required

• You will have an electrical / electronic engineering background and be educated to HNC or above. Some mechanical engineering knowledge would be useful.
• Knowledge of Rockwell / Siemens PLC / SCADA is a must, DCS is an advantage. DeltaV experience would be advantageous.
• Experience of having worked on site or experience in dealing with customers and an understanding of the challenges that engineers have would also be of benefit.
