Our client provides global solutions for electric motors, variable frequency drives, soft starters, gearboxes, controls, panels, transformers and generators. Producing more than 19 million units annually they are one of the largest manufacturers in the world.

Purpose of the role:

As an influential leader, you will be expected to utilise your existing product knowledge and market experience to create and implement a UK go-to-market strategy with the aim of increasing sales of low-voltage automation and digital solutions. You will be expected to liaise closely with manufacturing teams worldwide, sales and marketing colleagues alongside commercial and operational stakeholders.

Product Management

• Create and implement a UK go-to-market strategy with the aim of increasing sales of low-voltage automation and digital, liaising with UK Sales & Marketing Team.
• Act as a product champion and liaise with business unit team, both on market research and trends and consolidate feedback on product improvements.
• Providing customers and colleagues with product specific support to ensure correct selection, quotation and application is achieved.
• Create and maintain master Automation focused Net Tender and Published Pricelist.
• Assist in the Management of the Automation Stock Profile, advising on correct part number nomenclature and stock min/max levels.
• Where required, represent the company at industry associations and technical meetings such as Gambica, BEAMA, SCA and BPMA.

Business Development

• Support external sales team with customer visits to achieve automation sales growth and exceed targets.
• Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork.
• Information – generate reports as and when required to support team and company KPIs.

Experience Required

• Strong working knowledge of low voltage Variable Speed Drive, Soft Starter and controls systems designs and implementations.
• Sound experience of the UK industrial automation market and customer base.
• Experience of different applications and their control philosophy.
• Qualified to ONC or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical subject.

Additional Experience that will be considered:

• A knowledge of Electric Motors & Gearboxes and the transmission market is desirable.
• A knowledge of Digital Solutions such as Asset Management, Solar & Battery Storage and Electric Vehicle Chargers and the associated markets is desirable.
